John J. Berry, 74, of Red Lake Falls died Sunday, June 22, at his home in that city.
Mass of the resurrection for John J. Berry was offered Saturday at 10:00 a.m., at St. Joseph's Catholic church in Red Lake Falls with Rev. Jerome Fellon as celebrant. Music was provided by St. Joseph's adult choir with Polly Schmitz as organist. Interment was in the church cemetery. The Petterson Funeral home, Red Lake Falls, was in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers were Larry Kruse, Steve Kruse, Wayne Raymond, LaVern Schulz, Donald Herdling and Omer Sauve.
John J. Berry was born Oct. 4, 1905 in Red Lake Falls. He was a lifetime resident of that community, working as a tractor and heavy duty equipment mechanic. He never married.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. Army in Italy.
Surviving are three brothers: Walter Berry, Red Lake Falls; Alder, a resident of the Greensview Nursing home at Bagley; and Raymond, Superior, Wis.; and five sisters: Mrs. Rose Hirsch, Red Lake Falls; Mrs. Donald (Viola) Flattem, St. Paul; Mrs. Edward (Mary) Sylvester, Crookston; Mrs. Maurice (Alda) Trudeau, Renton, Wash.; and Mrs. Louis (Elvia) Fontaine, San Jose, Calif.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and three sisters.
