Willard Douglas Marshall age 68 of Berea, husband of Sandra Ann Byrd Marshall, died Sunday July 19, 2009 in Richmond. Douglas was the son of the late W.B. and Beatrice Douglas Marshall. Douglas was a retired engineer for EKU radio and T.V., a member of the Berea Church of God, a member of the Berea Gideon Camp, and a Deputy Coroner for Madison County. Douglas was a founding member of the Madison County Rescue Squad and was a Volunteer Fireman and Captain for many years. Douglas was also a Volunteer Fireman in Bell County where he was born and raised.


Douglas is survived by his wife Sandra Ann Marshall of Berea, son Ken (Gaea) Marshall of Berea, a sister Gladys Maurine Bishop of Pewee Valley, and his nieces Susie Clark, and Kim (Steve) Reeves.


Funeral services will be Friday July 24, 2009 at 2:00 pm at Lakes Funeral Home with Rev. Stephen Hobbs presiding. Burial will be in the Berea Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 6-8 pm at Lakes Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers donations should be made to Berea Gideon's Camp PO Box 256 Berea, KY 40403.
