Mrs. Bessie Viola Latta, 72, of 207 N. Liberty St., McComb, died Sunday evening in Blanchard Valley Hospital where she had been a patient for two weeks.

A lifelong resident of the McComb area, she was born in Gilboa, Jan. 31, 1899, to James and Emma Matilda (Smila) Thompson.

On Sept. 11, 1916, she was married to Lester L. Latta who died Dec. 2, 1957.

She is survived by three sons, Donald, McComb; Delbert, Bowling Green, and Lester Jr., Hicksville; three daughters, Mrs. Robert (Hilda) smith and Mrs. Walter (Marcella) George, both of McComb, and Mrs. James (Corrine) Stoner, Fostoria; and a sister, Mrs. Ethal Rader, McComb; 16 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

She was a member of the McComb Church of Christ, the Pythian Sisters in Hoytville, the Order of the Eastern Star in Deshler, and the Shawtown Grange.

Services will be at 2 p.m.. Wednesday in the Hartley Funeral Home, McComb, with the Rev. John Manges officiating. Burial will be in McComb Union Cemetery.

Visitation will be after 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
