William Schenck was the son of Augustus Schenck and Elizabeth Petter of York, PA. William is known to have had a large part in remodeling the Broad Street Methodist Church in Cleveland (c 1890s), and building homes for the Hardwick and Fillauer families. His daughter, Ella May, was given an oak dining set by the Hardwicks on her marriage in 1907. The dining set, as well as several pieces of furniture built by William are treasured family possessions.
