Daughter of John Martin Abbott Jr. and Mary Elizabeth Phelps, wife of Elwinn J. Arrington. She is mother of Andrew, Cynthia and David Arrington. She is my sister. Our grandparents, Hallie and Jim Phelps called her "Sugar"! While our father was serving overseas in WWII we (our mother, Mary Beth and later myself) lived with our grandparents Hallie and Jim Phelps until the war was over.
She was a beautiful baby and grew to be a beautiful woman and person. She was kind, quiet, soft spoken a good wife and mother. She had health issues after her youngest son David was born with blood clots in her leg. They plagued her for the rest of her life. She died suddenly while driving to a doctors appointment when some clots broke loose two weeks after her 33rd birthday.
Last year 2017 Elwinn died on what would have been their 59th wedding anniversary .

Always a silent hurt,
many a silent tear,
but always a beautiful memory
of one we loved so dear.

God gave us strength to bear it,
and courage to take the blow,
but what it meant to lose you

...no one will ever know.
