Charles Larry "Chuck" Black, Jr. - age 38, a native and lifelong resident of Mobile, AL died Wednesday, July 15, 2009. He was employed with JC Duke Contractors in Mobile. Chuck was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran who served in the Gulf War and the Somalia Conflict. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Larry Black, Sr.; nephew, Joshua McDonald; and father-in-law, Michael Mick" Prastina. Survivors include his wife, Misty Black, Mt. Vernon, AL; three children, Marlee "Poot Poot" , Molly "Booger" and Shawn Black; mother, Deborah Giveans, Beaumont, TX; two sisters, Charry (David) Jones, Huntsville, AL and Lisa (Dr. Barry, M.D.) Hardin, Beaumont, TX; nephew, Gray McDonald, Atlanta, GA; niece and nephew, Kalyn and Alex Hardin, both of Beaumont, TX; mother-in-law, Melissa "Molis" Prastina, Mt. Vernon, AL; sister-in-law, Robin Prastina, Mt. Vernon, AL; aunts and uncles, Peggy and Donald Black, Herbert Hutchison, Beverly Morris, Barbara and Don Lewis; many other relatives and friends. Visitation will be Thursday, July 23, 2009 from 5-8 p.m. at Radney Funeral Home in Saraland. Funeral services will be Friday, July 24, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. from the Pentecostals of Saraland Church. The family will receive friends at the church beginning at 10:00 a.m. prior to services. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. There is a Benefits Account for the children of Charles "Chuck" Black set up at Regions Bank. Arrangements are by RADNEY FUNERAL HOME, 1200 Industrial Pkwy, Saraland, AL 36571.
