Charles W. Puckett, 78, of 707 S. Monroe passed away Monday, July 13, 2009, at his home.

He was born Sept. 19, 1930, in Lewistown, the son of Robert and Nellie (Nelson) Puckett. He married Shirley Bainter on Dec. 5, 1955, in Palmyra, Mo.

She survives, along with one sister, Jackie O'Bryant of Donna, Texas.

He was preceded by his parents.

He was a meat cutter at the former Day & Palin IGA in Lewistown, retiring in 1992.

He was a Korean War veteran, serving in the Army.

He was an active member of the Lewistown American Legion Bishop Post 1 and a member of Lewistown VFW Post 5001. He was a past master of Lewistown Lodge 104 AF & AM and a member of Vermont Lodge 116 AF & AM.

Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Lewistown, with military rites conducted by his VFW and American Legion posts.
