Smith Denton Stewart married Cora Bell Wheeler on 17 Feb 1900 in White County, TN. Smith was a veteran of the Spanish American War; he is buried in the Bay Pines National Cemetery, Pinelias County, Florida. The family moved around quite a bit after starting out in White County in 1900, a move to Texas where their first child, Stella Mae Stewart Garrard, was born in Dec 1900; back to TN where two more girls were born, Alberta Stewart Dorsey in 1902 and Carrie Leona Stewart Morphew in 1904 and two sons Herbert Stewart in 1906 and Creighton in 1908; a move to Fresno, CA where Fred was born in 1910, a move to FL where two children, both died in infancy, were born. The 1920 CR found the family in Savanah, Georgia, another move to Chattanooga, TN and finally a move to Tullahoma, TN, where my grandmother and father remained. Smith eventually left the family and moved to Florida.
