Raymond P. Reilly, 87, of Edgerton, passed away on Wednesday, July 22, 2009, at HospiceCare Inc., Fitchburg. He was born on April 12, 1922, in Janesville, son of the late Patrick and Nell (Meeley) Reilly. He was united in marriage to Virginia Bruhn-Ludden on Aug. 27, 1960, in Edgerton. He was a member of St Joseph Catholic Church, Edgerton. Ray farmed in the Town of Fulton, Rock County his entire life. He also worked at the Dana Corp. He enjoyed going to the sale barns, working in his yard, and was also very active selling cattle and hay. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and a charter member of St. William's Catholic Church of Janesville. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Virginia of Edgerton; one daughter, Ginger (Michael) Ackerson of Janesville; five grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one brother, Joseph D. Reilly of Santee, CA; and two nieces, Mickey of Arizona and Toni of California. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Mary Jane Reilly. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 25, 2009, at ST. JOSEPH CATHOLIC CHURCH, Edgerton, with Father Dave Timmerman officiating. Burial will be in the Parish Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday, July 24, at the EHLERT FUNERAL HOME, (US HWY. 51 S.), Edgerton, from 5 until 7 p.m., and at the CHURCH on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of services. There will be a Rosary held at the funeral home of Friday evening at 7 p.m. The family would like to extend a very special thank you to St. Elizabeth Manor of Footville and to HospiceCare Inc. of Fitchburg for their loving care.
