Ardella M. Kiefer,95, of St. Charles died Thursday, July 23, 2009 at Golden Living Center- Whitewater in St. Charles.

Ardella was born August 19, 1913 in Taopi to Frank and Mary (Thelen) Doyle. She and Roy W. Kiefer were married November 15, 1950 in Adams, MN. Together they farmed in Adams; Austin, Chatfield and Utica. They retired and moved to St. Charles in 1975. Ardella was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church and it's St. Frances Unit. She also belonged to St. Charles Veterans of Foreign War and American Legion Auxiliaries and had served as chaplain of the VFW for many years.

Survivors include a sister Elizabeth "Betty" Hughes of Janesville, WI and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Roy, three brothers, Vernon, Johnny and Arnold and a sister Irene.

A Funeral Mass will be 10AM Monday at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church with The Reverend William Cronin officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in St. Charles. Friends may call one hour before services at the church.
Memorials are preferred to the church.
