James S. Steele, 64, Pasadena, Calif., died in his home Monday morning at 5 o'clock following an illness of six years.
The decedent was born July 6, 1886 in Wabash County to James Melville and Adelaid (Dale) Steele. He was married Dec. 25, 1912 in Wabash to Adeline Baumbauer who survives.
Mr. Steele moved from Wabash County to South Bend where he lived for 25 years moving from there to Pasadena where he resided for a year and a half. He was a retired lumber salesman for the John I. Shaffer Lumber company. Mr. Steele was a member of the Presbyterian church.
Other survivors include a son, James E. Steele, Louisville, Ky., and one brother, Oliver Steele, San Antonio, Tex. Two brothers and one sister preceded him in death.
The body will be returned to the Hoover-Miner Funeral Home and services will be announced later. Burial will be in Falls Cemetery.
