Mrs. Ray Carothers
Funeral services were held at
2p.m. Friday at the home of
Mrs. Martin Severson for her
mother, Mrs. Ray Carothers, 47,
who died Tuesday after a long
illness at the Plum City hospital.
The Rev. D.C. Gearhart offic-
iated and burial took place in the
North Branch cementery.
Mrs. Carothers, the former
Ruth Mae Aitken, was born July
10, 1894, in Misha Mokwa, a
daughter of the late Edward and
Drucilla Aitken. Her marriage
took place Sept. 24, 1913.
Besides her husband and moth-
er, she is survived by eight chil-
dren, Charles of Cornell, Mrs.
Martin (Charlotte) Severson of
Durand, Mrs. Leo (Grace) Dru-
gan of trempealeau, Walter of
Eau Claire, Mrs. Arthur (Fern)
Reick of Nelson, Mrs. Edward
(Rachael) Brion of Eau Claire,
and Helen and Merlin at home.
She leaves one sister, Mrs.
Reno Egan of Wausau, and two
brothers, Robert of Nelson and
Wallace ofLake City, Her father,
and one sister are dead.
