William Franklin Dailey, 86, well known retired Jefferson county farmer, died Saturday afternoon in the Gateway Nursing Home near Hagerstown, Md. where he had been a patient since August 9.

Born October 14, 1870 in Jefferson County, he was a son of the late Richard and Charlotte Everhart Dailey of the county. He was a member of the Shepherdstown Methodist Church.

Surviving him are: five daughters - Mrs. Charistian Carter of Moler's Cross Roads; Mrs. Edward Gano and Mrs. Martin Carter of Shepherdstown; Mrs. Thomas Magaha and Miss Dorothy Dailey of Charles Town, RFD; two sons, Arnold of Summit Point and Russell of Shepherdstown; one sister, Mrs. Nora Staubs of Bolivar; 21 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Services were conducted by his pastor, the Rev. Randall Parsons of the Shepherdstown Methodist Church, Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 at the Melvin T. Strider Company Colonial Funeral Home, with burial following in Edge Hill.
