John Hodges was the third of eleven children born to James Blaine and Josephine (Swartz) Hodges. His siblings were: Sarah Jane, James William, Erwine Phinney, Opal Zoe, Vernon DeLyle, Daisy Montana, Archie W., Richard Eugene, Ernst Junior, and Verlene Josephine Hodges.
John was better known to all of us neices and nephews as "Uncle Fat".
He married (1)Anna Mae Ritchie. They were the parents of one daughter, Betty Jean, who married Ray Sherman.
He married (2)Dorothy Lucille Mollinkopf on 30 October 1936 in Fairbury, Jefferson, NE. They were the parents of one son, Larry LaVerne, and one daughter, Janis Kay Hodges Soellner.
