Huston fought with the 24th KY INF and the 6th KY Cav during the Civil War (was in Sherman's March to the Sea). He lived with brother John T. O'Hair in Il and later farmed with wife Mary Walls O'Hair in Lincoln Co. KY. He returned to Wolfe Co. and died there. He is buried in an unmarked grave in an unmarked cemetery on a ridge across from the O'Hair-Trent Cemetery in Trent, Wolfe Co. KY, next to his father William O'Hair and his uncle Andrew Nickell.
