MRS. ROY S. GRIFFITH DIES MONDAY MORNING
Daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John R. Dugan of Nineveh Twp

Mrs. Della Dugan Griffith, wife of Roy S. Griffith, and a former well-known resident of the Union community, died Monday morning at 7:00 at her home on Fletcher avenue, Indianapolis. Mrs. Griffith, who was forty years of age, had been a sufferer from hay fever and asthma from girlhood, and according to reports received by her mother, her death was caused from strangulation, brought on by these two ailments. She is survived by the husband, one daughter and an adopted daughter. The adopted daughter has made her home for a number of years with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John R. Dugan, and is a sophomore in the Franklin high school.
Mrs. Griffith was the only child of Mr. and Mrs. Dugan and was born in the Union neighborhood and spent most of her life there until her removal to Indianapolis a few years ago. She was a member of the Union Christian church and was a splendid young woman.
Her mother did not know of the serious condition of her daughter until she received the telephone message Monday morning, telling of her death. Her father, Rev. John R. Dugan, was in the southern part of the state Sunday to fill an appointment, and he received the sad news when he alighted from an Interurban car at the Franklin station Monday morning at 9:16. Both the parents were almost overcome by the sad news.
They were taken to Indianapolis by Shirley G. Featherngill, a neighbor.
Funeral services for Mrs. Griffith will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 at the Christian church at Franklin, and burial will be at Greenlawn cemetery.
