No obituary exists for Dorothy, so I hope the following will serve as one.

Dorothy was born in 1927. A little over a year later, on March 23, 1928, her mother Eunice Ward married William Graboski.

She was the oldest of three sisters, the others being Loretta and Edith Loraine.

Dorothy was mentally challenged, though her mother and siblings treated her with love and she was allowed to live as normal a life as possible growing up. Dorothy lived many years in the care of her younger sister Loretta. Both girls would have been in their early 20s when their mother passed and Loretta would take on the responsibility of raising a family of her own, along with caring for her sister.

In 1949, both Dorothy (listed as a Nurse's Aide) and sister Edith Harig (Listed as a sales woman) are living at 337 LaGrave, SE. Obviously Dorothy was quite capable of being some what independent and the family allowed her to do so.

Dorothy would later spend many of her years living in the home of her companion Oscar A Ekelund on Laketon Street, Muskegon, https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/85759197/oscar-alfred-ekelund
He would leave his estate to Dorothy. They worked flea markets together, both in the State and as far away as Florida. She would live and travel with Oscar for over 20 years. I believe these were happy years for Dorothy.
Oscar was a photographer and had Ekelund Studio at 127 West Broadway, Muskegon:
Oscar A. Ekelund
Born:
28 Jul 1906 - Michigan
Died:
31 Dec 1989 - Muskegon, MI.
He was born in Michigan to Peter and Annie Ekeland, both born in Sweden. He had siblings, Arthur, Betty and Theodore. The family lived in the Manistee area.
Oscar enlisted for World War II in Kalamazoo, MI July 29th, 1942. He is 36 at the time and living in Muskegon. His occupation is listed as Photographer, with 3 years of High School. He is single with no dependents.
I believe Oscar never married and if he saw other family, I've never heard of them personally.

Dorothy LOVED to talk and visit with others. She loved giving cards at Holidays. She was friendly and outgoing.

After Oscar's passing, Dorothy would live 20 years under the guardianship of a niece until her death in Grand Haven at the age of 78 of heart disease.
