We perform the painful duty in announcing the death of our worthy and venerated fellow citizen, Robert Soutter, Esq. An accidental hurt received about six weeks ago, eventuating in gangrene, terminated his valuable and exemplary life on Sunday afternoon, at 4 o’clock, in the 69th year of his age. Mr. Soutter was a native of Dundee, in Scotland, and about forty years ago established himself in mercantile business in this Borough, which he continued to pursue with success until within the last five years, when he retired, rich in the fruits of his long course of honorable enterprise and industry, but richer far in the blessings which clustered around his domestic hearth, and in the love and respect borne him by the community, in which, it may be said, there was mingled no drop of unkind or indifferent feeling.-Norfolk Herald.
