Lenora Roesner, age 99, of Bemidji, Minn., died Sunday, May 17, 2009 at Havenwood Care Center, Bemidji, Minn.
Funeral Services will be 2:00 P.M., Thursday, May 21, 2009 at Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. Matthew Wurm officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in Aardahl Lutheran Cemetery, Frohn Township, Beltrami County, Minnesota. Arrangements are entrusted to the Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home, Bemidji, Minn.
Casket Bearers: Ed Langerak, Jim Langerak, David Allen, Loren Langerak, Stuart Allen and Ross Roesner.
Lenora Emeline Paulson was born October 11, 1909 in Clarissa, Minn. to Edward and Carie (Monsen) Paulson. They moved to Bemidji around 1914. She attended Sunnyside School and graduated from Bemidji High School June 3, 1926 and from Bemidji State Teachers College June 5, 1930. She taught school at Puposky, Redby, Hines and Blackduck. She married Eldon Niemeyer March 23, 1934 and lived on a farm in Hines, Minn. Eldon passed away in 1953. On June 4, 1955 she married Rolla Soper and moved from Blackduck, Minn. to Sherburn, Minn. Rolla passed away September 15, 1976. On November 11, 1978 she married Alfred Roesner and lived in Lakefield, Minn. Alfred passed away April 16, 2001. She lived in Jackson, Minn. prior to moving to Bemidji in 2005, living at Birchhaven.
She is survived by 3 step-daughters, Elaine (Greg) Bezdecek of Sequim, Wash., Eileen Roesner and Evelyn (David) Willette both of Mankato, Minn.; 6 step-grandchildren; 8 step-great grandchildren and 10 step-great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and special friend Joyce Bretzman of Lakefield, Minn.
She was preceded in death by her husbands; 2 step daughters, Betty Soper Benton and Donna Soper Roesner; 8 brothers, Martin, Alfred Johan, Henry, Alfred Wilhalm, Anton, Melvin, Edward and Ted Paulson; 3 sisters, Ella Kitzman, Tilda Larson and Clara Langerak.
Family prefers memorials to Trinity Lutheran Church, Bemidji, Minn.
