Bill Short Dies Here, Was Luke Short's Nephew

William (Bill) Short, 82 died at the V.A. Center, Thursday March 28 after a lingering illness. Mr. Short was born in San Angelo, Tex., July 9, 1891 and came to Arizona as a small boy with his family. He lived in Arizona 74 years.

He served in the U.S. Army during WW I and was a member of the American Legion. He was a member of a pioneer Arizona family and was the nephew of Luke Short of Tombstone.

Mr. Short had been a barber in Coolidge for 30 years and served as an examiner of the Arizona State Board of Barbers. A member of the Masonic Lodge in Coolidge, he had lived in Prescott for 11 years and lived at 2815 Frisco Peaks Drive here at the time of his death.

Survivors include his widow, Jessie Josephine; two daughters, Mrs. Mary Jane Grossmiller and Mrs. Frances Ferell both of Sun City; a stepson, Ernest Eisenhour of Pinedale; a step-daughter, Mrs. Anna Harth of El Paso, Tex' 11 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Also a niece, Ann Baker of Los Angeles; and a nephew, John Baker of Redlands, Calif.

Funeral services will be held at the V.A. Chapel, Monday April 1, 1974 at 10 a.m. with full military graveside rites to follow in the Prescott National Cemetery.

Visitation will be Sunday from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Memory Chapel and also from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Monday.
