Mrs. Edward Clark, wife of the architect of the United States Capitol, as stated in yesterday’s Star, died at noon yesterday at the residence of the family, 417 4th street northwest, after a prolonged illness. She was born in Boston, Mass., and was the daughter of the late Watson Freeman, who was United States marshal of the district of Massachusetts during the administrations of Presidents Pierce and Buchanan. Mrs. Clark, by her hospitable manner and generous nature, endeared herself to a large circle of friends, by whom her low will be deeply mourned. She was prominently identified with many charitable works in this city, and has been for some years a member of the board of lady managers of the Garfield Hospital. She leaves to her husband and her children memories of a beautiful life, which will long survive. The funeral will take place tomorrow at 2 p.m. from the residence, Interment private at Rock Creek cemetery.
