Mrs. Acton of Hope Succumbs
Illness of Several Years Ends in Death for Hartsville Native.

Mrs. Mary Alice Acton died at 5:30 o'clock Saturday evening at her home in Hope after an illness of several years. She had been bedfast the last five months.

Mrs. Acton was born in Union county, the daughter of Henry C. and Sarah A. Stout. She spent most of her childhood in Hartsville and attended Hartsville college. She moved to Hope in 1916 where she has lived since. She was a member of the Methodist church, W.S.C.S., Wimodausis class of the Sunday school and the W.C.T.U.

Survivors are one sister, Mrs. Carrie Armstrong of Hope; two nieces, Mrs. Louis Fuller of Rushville and Mrs. Emmett Wood of Madison; two stepchildren, Thomas Guffey of Indianapolis and Miss Luna Guffey of Edinburg.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at Methodist church, in charge of the Rev. E. A. Dawson, with burial at the Moravian cemetery. The body will be moved Monday noon to her home on Washington street in Hope.
