Mary Clay Freeman, 94, of Martin, died Tuesday, July 21, 2009, at Green Acres Nursing Home in Milledgeville, Ga. Services will be held at 1 pm Saturday at Murphy Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Pisgah Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 4-8 pm on Friday. Joe Buck Freeman, Mike Freeman, Gerald Ray Freeman, Jack Freeman, Dennis Chambers, Russell Chambers, Mike Brock, and Doyle Franklin Williams will serve as pallbearers.

Mrs. Freeman was born January 4, 1915 in Dresden, daughter of the late IF and Ada Lamb Gatewood. She was the widow of Alvin Woodrow Freeman. She was a retired employee of Martin Manufacturing Company and a member of Pisgah United Methodist Church.

Survivors include one son, Leon (Lois) Freeman of Mokena, Ill; two daughters, Pattie Bass of East Lansing, Mich. and Dorene (Larry) Ivy of Milledgeville; five grandchildren, Patricia (Gary) Latimore, DeWitt, Mich, Philip Bass of Oak Park, Ill, Krista (Nathan) Brouwer of Carterville, Ill, AJ (Amy) Freeman of Sycamore, Ill. and Rob (Michelle) Manchester of Milledgeville; and three great-grandchildren, Laura Garcia of Dewitt, Jessica Heim-Brouwer of Carterville and Emery Manchester of Milledgeville.
