Germfask Pioneer Laid At Rest Tuesday; Died Suddenly On Saturday
Funeral services were held on Tuesday afternoon from the Methodist church at Germfask for Mrs. Sarah Ann Cornell, 79, who passed away on Saturday evening at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Thomas Blisard, 549 Garden avenue. Rev DeLloyd
Huenink, pastor of the Presbyterian church in this city, officiated and interment was made in the Germfask cemetery.
Mrs. Cornell was stricken while at the supper table and died a few minutes thereafter. She had been in good health up until Wednesday evening last week when she suffered an apoplectic stroke.
The deceased had resided with her daughter for the past year and a half and prior to that time was a ... Cornell came to Germfask 39 years ago. The former (her husband) passed away about 15 years ago.
Mrs. Cornell was born in Moore township, Lambton county, Ontario. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth of this city; Mrs. Fred England, Germfask and four sons. James of Berkley, Michigan; John, of Newberry; and George and Charles, of Germfask. She also leaves a sister and two brothers, Mrs. Peter Smith of Corunna, Ontario; and James and John of Lambton county, Ontario."
Mrs. Cornell was held in high esteem by all who knew her and the news of her death will come as a shock to her many friends.
