Mrs. Dorothy Mae Hubbard Hill, 80, formerly of Valley Forge Community, passed away on Saturday, January 24, 2009, at Ivy Hall Nursing Home, surrounded by her family.

Mrs. Hill was the daughter of the late Fred C. and Dora Belle Sims Jenkins and was a native of Carter County. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Hill; three brothers, Carl Ray Jenkins, Blaine Jenkins, Paul Jenkins; two sisters, Mary Thurman, Ruby Tunney and the father of her children, Walter S. Hubbard.

Mrs. Hill was a member of the Valley Forge Church of God. She was a former president of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Capt. Lynn H. Folsom VFW Post #2166 and was a homemaker and a waitress.

Mrs. Hill is survived three sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Sue Hubbard, Telford; Eugene and Patsy Hubbard, Elizabethton; Lester Lee and Terry Hubbard, Johnson City; a daughter and son-in-law, Mary Katherine and Jim Mason, Flippin, AR; six grandchildren, Joshua Howard Hubbard, Chris Hubbard, Angela Hubbard Bennett, Amy Hubbard McCurry, Becky Mason, Emily Mason Erisman; three great-grandchildren, Justin McCurry, Mason Erisman, Mary Elizabeth Erisman and a brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Ilena Jenkins, Elizabethton. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

The funeral service for Mrs. Hill will be conducted on Monday, January 26, 2009 at 7:30 PM in the Riverside Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton with Dr. Alan King officiating. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 5:30 – 7:30 PM Monday prior to the service and at the residences of her sons, Lee or Gene at other times. The graveside service and interment will be conducted on Tuesday, January 27, 2009 at 10:00 AM in the Mountain Home National Cemetery, Mountain Home, Tennessee. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the funeral home at 9:00 AM to go in procession to the cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Jim Bennett, Joseph Deloach, Richard Lewis, Richard "Jarfly" Dugger, Josh Hubbard, Brian McCurry and Ken Dugger. Honorary pallbearers will be Shelby Street, Larry Nave, Ora and David Hyder, Larry Pippin, Judy and Victor Deloach, Dr. Steven Loyd, Greg Nave, W. Joe Mason, Larry Morton, the employees of Ivy Hall Nursing Home and the staff of Adventa Hospice.
