Wife: Doris Willey McCummins
He served in the Army, then later retired from the Navy Seabees, having served in Vietnam. He retired from the Biloxi Veterans Administration Hospital after 20 years. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Dedeaux. He was a life member and past post commander of VFW Post 4526, Orange Grove-Gulfport; Cooties-PT 02, Gulfport; life member, DAV Chapter 5, Gulfport; Orange Grove Blue Lodge 635; Scottish Rite (Clown Unit); and a volunteer bell ringer for the Salvation Army.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Doris Willey McCummins; a daughter, Jeanne and Matt Lizana; a son, Robert J. and Christine McCummins Jr.; five grandchildren who were the pride of his life, Kristin and Jeremy Lizana, Matthew Lizana, Katie McCummins, Shannon McCummins and Brenna McCummins; a sister-in-law, Margie Willey; two sisters, Sally and Don Canalejo of Pembrook, Fla., and Mary McCummins of New Castle; and 18 nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Dorothy Bradley of West Pittsburg, Peggy Million of New Castle and Patricia Carbon of Edinburg; and two brothers, Dick McCummins of New Castle and Leo McCummins of Las Vegas.
Visitation and a service were held today at the Riemann Family Funeral Home, 274 Beauvoir Road, Biloxi, Miss.
