She was born in Greenville County, February 26, 1876, a daughter of the late James and Catherine (Gidney) Tate. For a number of years she lived in Tampa, Fla., and Atlanta, but had lived here for the last six years.
Mrs. King was a member of Pendleton Street Baptist Church.
Besides Mrs. Hughes, she is survived by another daughter, Mrs. O,M. Estes of Rock Hill; by nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted by Dr. J. Dean Crain will be held Monday afternoon at 5 o'clock at the Mackey Mortuary and interment will be in Reedy River Baptist Church cemetery.
The following nephews will serve as pallbearers and meet at the church at 4:45 o'clock, P.P. Tate, M.R. Tate, J.K. Tate, P.J. Buckley, Kenneth Tate and Wendell Tate.
Pending the funeral hour, the body is at the mortuary. The family is at the home of Mrs. Hughes.
