ARMES, BRITTNEY DANIELL, 11, of Harriman, died Sunday, Nov. 18, 2001, at Roane Medical Center in Harriman of injuries sustained in an all-terrain-vehicle accident. Born June 11, 1990, in Oak Ridge, she was the daughter of Jerome Huntley Armes and Lisa Kay Slack Armes of Harriman. Brittney was a fifth-grade student at Midtown Elementary School in Roane County. She was a member of the 4-H Club and of Calvary Baptist Church in Oak Ridge. Her family said she loved being outdoors and especially enjoyed fishing, swimming and nature in general. Her father, who called her "Little Flossie," said she never met a stranger and always found good in everyone. In addition to her parents, Brittney is survived by her brother, Nicholas Armes, a ninth-grade student at Roane County High School; her maternal grandparents, Arlene and Harold Slack of Oak Ridge; her paternal grandparents, John and Georgia Armes of Wartburg; her great-grandmothers, Gertrude Kelly of Oak Ridge and Pearl Slack of Oliver Springs; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. The funeral will be held at 8 tonight, Nov. 20, at Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev.Steve McDonald officiating. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 21, at Oak Ridge Memorial Park. The family requests that any memorials be in the form of donations to Mr. McKinny's fifth-grade class at Midtown Elementary School, 2830 Roane State Highway, Harriman, TN 37748.
