"Juletta graduated in the Maple Grove School, and then later attended Normal at Danville preperatory to teaching. She followed the teaching profession for several years at different places including Maple Grove, Fairview, Parker, and Cotton Wood. She married at the age of twenty but taught for two more years after that.

Farming was Ernest's occupation and in it he was successful. After their marriage he and Juletta bought a farm and were on it a few years but then settled in Georgetown where he engaged in business.

Juletta united with the Methodist Episcopal Church when a girl in her teens and lived as a constant worker and faithful member serving as a Sunday School teacher and Superintendent for years. She was also a teacher of the Normal Class and served as Township President of Sunday Schools." (Lucinda [Kidd] Widener)
