He was a retired mail clerk for the Commonwealth of PA and a US Navy veteran of the Korean War and a member of Harris Street United Methodist Church, PA Assn. of Retired State Employees, American Legion, AARP, Verhovay Home Assn., PA Sports Hall of Fame and Lemoyne Senior Cititzens.
Donald was the son of the late Harold and Margaret Rice Bachman and is survived by one brother, Gerald Bachman of Florida; one sister, Evelyn "Tiny" Houseal of Etters; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 31, 2009 at 10:00 am in Wiedeman Funeral Home, 357 S. Second St., Steelton with Rev. Richard E. Denison, Jr., his pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Highspire Cemetery,
