This is my mother. She was a wonderful person that worked very hard her entire life to raise myself and my brother. There will never be another person as special as she was. She was very sick for a long time and I know she is much happier now. She loved the Lord with all her heart and I know she is in heaven rejoicing. I will miss her dearly.
Betty J. Head, 72, of Harrisburg, passed away Tuesday, July 28, 2009, at her sister's house in Wayne City.
She was born in Saline County on May 26, 1937, to James Lenard and Pansy (Lawyer) McGill. Betty was a nurse's aide and worked at the Eldorado Nursing Home retiring in 1991. She attended the Church of God in Carrier Mills when she was able.
Surviving is a son David (Kim) Dennison of Harrisburg; a daughter, Tammy Morrison of Harrisburg; five grandchildren, Nick and Tyler Dennison, Billy and Samantha Kinser and Adriana Dennison; and a sister, Brenda (Gary) Cline of Wayne City.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Emory Head, in 1995; two sisters, Genevieve York and Virginia Beltz; and one brother, Charles McGill.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 1, 2009, at the Sloan Funeral Home in Galatia with visitation 10 a.m. to funeral hour. The Rev. Gary Cline and the Rev. Allen Hurt will officiate. Burial will be in the Cottage Grove Cemetery.
