On August 21, 1948 she married Durlin Prine at the Prairie Lake Covenant Church Parsonage. Betty and Durlin dairy farmed in the Town of Maple Grove for many years. They retired from farming in 1986. For twenty years Betty and her husband wintered in Texas.
Betty enjoyed reading and going to the library. She liked long walks in the woods. Betty also did some fishing, especially in Canada. She loved to cook.
Betty was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church in Barron.
She is survived by her sons Bill (Kimberly) Prine of Hillsdale, WI; Richard (Jodie) Prine of Ridgeland, WI; daughter Janelle Prine of Viroqua, WI; 5 grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 1son Douglas, 1 daughter Lola, 7 brothers, and 2 sisters.
Funeral services will be held Monday, January 14, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at First United Methodist Church in Barron with Rev. Mary Anne Conklin officiating. Burial will be in the Wayside Cemetery in Barron. Visitation will be held at Rausch & Steel Funeral Home in Barron on Sunday from 4 to 8 P.M. and one hour prior to the services at the church.
