Mildred M. Anibal, 88, of Stevensville, Michigan, formerly of Virginia, passed away Tuesday, February 3, 2009 at her daughter's home.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 7:00 P.M. Thursday, February 5, 2009 at Starks and Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, with Pastor Bob Confer officiating. Burial will be held in Norfolk, Virginia.

Mrs. Anibal was born May 3, 1920 in Elizabeth City, N. Carolina to Jerome & Massie (Toler) Ferrell. On May 29, 1947, Mildred married Chester Anibal in Norfolk, Virginia. He preceded her in death in August of 1989. Mildred was a homemaker, always making sure her family was well cared for. Mildred was a member of the First Church of God in St. Joseph where she was a member of the adult Sunday school class & vacation Bible school helper.

While attending the Naval Base Chapel in the Woods she was an usher, a Sunshine Lady vacation Bible school teacher, board member and helped the Habitat for Humanity build a house. In her spare time, she enjoyed arts and crafts, especially making hand sewn beaded Christmas ornaments.

Mrs. Anibal is survived by her daughter Joyce (Neal) Gil de Lamadrid of Stevensville; her son Victor (Madeline) Pell of San Antonio, Texas; four grandchildren Amber & Amy Gil de Lamadrid, Cindy (Joe) Narrango and Cheryl Pell; four great grandsons and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters.

Hollomon- Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive, is handling the arrangements for the Norfolk burial.
