EMMETT--Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Cross Cathoic Church here for Morgan L. Sumner, 83, Emmett, who died Saturday, Feb. 24, 1990, at an Onaga hospital.
Mr. Sumner retired from farming in 1974.
He was born Jan. 22, 1907, near Emmett, the son of Rush Earl and Mattie S. Talbert Sumner, and spent his life in the Emmett community.
Mr. Sumner was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Emmett and Knights of Columbus Council No. 657 in St. Marys. He served on the St. Clere school board before consolidation and on the St. Clere Township and cemetery boards since 1965.
He married Rachel E. Haug Sept. 22, 1931, in Emmett. She survives.
Other survivors include two daughters, Maxine LoScalzo, Oklahoma City, and Sharon Legg, Leavenworth; nine grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Burial will be in St. Clere Cemetery. Mr. Sumner will lie in state after 2 p.m. Tuesday at Verschelden Funeral Home in St. Marys where a rosary will be recited at 7:30 p. m.
