She was my Aunt Ruth. She was a very outgoing lady, always with a bubbly personality. I didn't know her all that well but she was a lady that you love to be around.
Ruth was my grandmother, Esther May's older sister. Her husband, David was my grandfather, Fred McClain's brother.
Ruth had three children by her first husband. Jewel Mahaley Hicks and Thelma Pauline Hicks. Both died young. Her son Earl Andrew Hicks lived a full and long life.
Ruth had three children by husband, David Burns.
Robert Ruskin Burns and two daughters,

I remember when daughter, Juanita married. It was a home wedding. Aunt Ruth & Uncle Dave lived in a little green house on State Hwy. 75 just north of Friday's Crossing or just south of the road that goes to Susan Moore school.. As of Jan. 2020 the house is still standing.
