BOWIE, RICHARD W.W. -- Col -- a prominent farmer and landowner of this county, died Tuesday morning at his home "Willow Grove" of congestion of the lungs. He was sick but 10 days and was 74 years of age. He was a cousin of the late Oden Bowie, Governor of Maryland from 1868 to 1872, and was county commissioner of this county a number of years before the last war. He leaves a daughter, Mrs. Benjamin Lee Belt [Note: Amelia Mary Bowie]. His wife was a daughter of the late Marsham Waring.
