Obituary: Ogdensburg Journal - Sunday June 2, 1974
Mansel W. Langtry, 64, a dairy farmer on the Sand Street Road, Brier Hill, was pronounced dead on arrival at 1:45 p.m. Wednesday (May 29, 1974) at Hepburn Hospital. He was stricken ill while driving the farm tractor, and was taken to the hospital in (he Morristown Volunteer Firemen's Rescue Unit ambulance.

The funeral was at 2 p.m. Saturday at the First Congregational Church of Morristown, with the Rev. Roy C. Johnson, pastor, officiating. Burial was in Ingham Cemetery, Brier Hill.

Surviving are his widow, Kathleen; one son, three daughters, two sisters, Mrs. William (Ruby) Pielow of Black River, and Mrs. Pansy Smith of Brier Hill; three brothers, John and Clarence, both of Brier Hill, and Walter of Hammond; five grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mr. Langtry was born in Augusta Township, Ont., Canada, Aug. 22, 1909, a son of William and Ruth Scott Langtry. He attended schools at North Augusta, Ont., and Hammond.

He married Kathleen Mead of Hammond, at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Almerin Mead, June 29, 1938, the ceremony being performed by the Rev. Henry Shoemalcer. After their marriage they purchased the Scotty McGregor farm on the Sand Street Road.

Mr. Langtry was a member of the Hammond Grange.
