WEST, LEE Services Held For LEE WEST, Retired Funeral Home Director. Funeral services were held Tuesday for LEE EVERETT WEST, 80, a retired funeral director and one of the founders of West Funeral Home, who passed away Saturday morning in Scott County Hospital. Mr. WEST had been a salesman during his early years, having served for 25 years with the Stearns Lumber and Coal Co. In 1949 he and his son VERNON founded the West Funeral Home, which is now known as West-Collins and Murley Funeral Home. He served in both the capacity of funeral director and mortician prior to his retirement. He was the son of the late SHERMAN WEST and NANCY WILSON WEST and was also preceded in death by a brother, LONNIE WEST. Mr. WEST was a member of Fairfield Baptist Church in Crossville and was the oldest deacon of First Baptist Church in Oneida. He was also a member of the Oneida Kiwanis Club. A resident of the Skyline Drive section of Oneida, he is survived by: his wife, GRACE ROY WEST of Oneida one daughter, Mrs. LOIS LEE HARRIS, of Cincinnati, O.; two sons, VERNON WEST of Oneida, and GLYNN WEST of Fairfield Glade; a brother, LOY WEST of Knoxville; two sisters, Mrs. A. M. (ORANGE) LAY of Oneida, and Miss GOLDA WEST of Knoxville; 16 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon in the chapel of West-Collins and Murley Funeral Home with Rev. CHERYL DUNCAN and Rev. FRED OGILVIE officiating.
