He was likely buried with about 200 other Confederate soldiers in a mass grave near the Western Kentucky University grounds. After the land was bought by the city and made into a cemetery, these approximately 200 soldiers were moved to Fairview Cemetery and buried in a circle in unmarked graves. He supposedly died of measles which his regiment was riddled with.
