She attended Stearns County School District # 17 located one-fourth mile south of the farm home.
Prior to her marriage on 21 Jul 1942 in St. Boniface Catholic Church, Cold Spring, Minnesota to Kilian Peter Loesch she worked for her parents on the farm and on the occasion of a neighbor's wife having a new birth, she would assist the neighbor's wife with homemaking tasks until the child was a month of age.
Laverne and Kilian were farmers throughout their entire working career. Upon retirement one of their children took over the ownership and operation of their 240 acre farm near Pearl Lake (Marty), Maine Prairie Town Ship, Pearl Lake, Stearns County, Minnesota.
The couple purchased a home in Sauk Rapids, Minnesota and lived their until their deaths.
