CADIZ, Ky. _ Richard A. "Dick" Ledford, 84, Roaring Springs community of Cadiz, died at 11:40 a.m. Wednesday at Trigg County Hospital.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday at Goodwin Funeral Home, with the Rev. Billy Joe Nichols officiating. Burial will be in Green Hill Memorial Gardens, Christian County.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 tonight at the funeral home.
A native of Trigg County, he was born Dec. 22, 1911, son of the late James Sidney Ledford II and his wife, the late Julia Dawson Ledford. He was a retired farmer, having owned his family's farm, which was more than 100 years old.
He was a member of the Civilian Conservation Corps, a former Trigg County school board member, a Soil Conservation board member, a charter member of the Pennyroyal Farm Analysis and a member, deacon and elder of Roaring Springs Christian Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Robertson Ledford; five sons, Richard A. Ledford, Union City, Tenn., and Carl Lee Ledford, James Ray Ledford, Robert Thomas Ledford and Steve Leonard Ledford, all of Cadiz; two daughters, Dean Ledford Duncan, Cadiz, and Mary Ann Ledford Krol, Frankfort; a sister, Julia Grace Maddox, Memphis, Tenn.; and 13 grandchildren, three step-grandchildren and great-grandchild.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Roaring Springs Christian Church.
