John was a farmer in Tivoli, Refugio County, Texas. He had also been a butcher in Tivoli. John enlisted in the Texas Rangers as a LOYALTY RANGER, from July 9, 1918 until February, 1919. John Edward Barber died March 7, 1945 in Refugio County Texas and was buried in Tivoli Cemetery.
