Charles Irvin McCorkle was born on Jan. 29, 1911 at Ed Edmond's Homestead, Fairvalley, OK.
He married Mildred Frances Sullivan, daughter of Jessie Scott and Della (Cox) Sullivan, on Aug. 15, 1931, in Las Animas, CO. She was born on Jan. 13, 1914 in Rocky Ford, CO and is of Scotch-Irish descent. They filed for divorce March 16, 1946.

Irvin married Cora Lee (Dye), daughter of William Gordon Dye and Katherine Magness, Dec. 5, 1946. She was born Jan. 24, 1917, in Andrews, County of Cherokee, NC. She was eleventh of thirteen children and was of Dutch, Scotch-Irish, German, English, and Indian descent.

Irvin served in the US Army from Apr. 1944 to Jan. 10, 1946 and served in New Caledonia and Okinawa. He had been manager, operator, and laborer of Seven Oaks Farm in Belmont, NC since Aug. 1952. He breaded and trained quarter horses, raised livestock and farmed.

He and Mildred had 4 children:

1) Kenneth Irvin McCorkle (m. Elizabeth "Betty" Veronica (Kowalski))

2) Patricia Jean (McCorkle) Reisch
