Mildred Lewallen Proctor"Mildred Proctor, Funeral services held Tuesday for longtime teacher Mildred Proctor – Mildred Proctor, who compiled 34 years of teaching in the Oneida and Scott County school systems before her retirement, died Sunday at the Scott County Hospital. She was 84. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday at the First United Methodist Church in Oneida with the Rev. Doug Wilder officiating. Burial followed in the Carson Memorial Cemetery. She was the widow of the late William N. ""Bill"" Proctor, who served as Mayor of the Town of Oneida. Born in Glenmary, the daughter of C. K. and Maggie Webb Lewallen, she received her early education at Oneida Elementary and High School, graduating in 1934. She attended college at Maryville College and Tennessee Tech in Cookeville. She taught four years in the Scott County School System and 30 years in the Oneida system. A longtime member of the First United Methodist Church of Oneida, Proctor served as organist for her church from 1963 to 1973. She also performed duties as a Sunday School teacher and held memberships on the church's Administrative Board, Finance Committee and served as a trustee. She is survived by a son, Bill, of Mt. Orab, Ohio; a grandchild, Beth Marie Leimberger of Mt. Orab, Ohio; and a great-grandchild, Nicky G. Leimberger. " (Source: The Independent Herald, 22 Jun 2000, p1)
