Mrs. Bertha Byington, 59, wife of Leon Byington and a sister of Mrs. James C. McCarty, 5116 West Pine, Pocatello, died Tuesday night in a Wendell hospital following a heart attack.

Mrs. Byington was born June 7, 1890, at Rockland, a daughter of Heber and Clarrisa Allen Wood. She spent her early life in Rockland where she took an active part in LDS church activities.

She was married to Leon Byington May 28, 1913 in the Logan Temple, and in 1934 they moved to Wendell. In 1946 Mr. and Mrs Byington went on a mission for the LDS Church to Texas.

Deceased is survived by her husband, one son, Floyd of Ogden, five grandchildren and the following brother and sisters: Heber Wood, Ogden; George Wood, Van Nuys, Calif.; Alma and Carlyle Wood, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Murle Sanderson, Salt Lake City and Mrs James C. McCarty, Pocatello.

Funeral services will be held at the LDS ward chapel at Wendell at 2 p.m. Friday and at the Rockland ward chapel at 2 p.m. Saturday with Bishop Lee May in charge.
