Mayme Scheid
Mrs. Mayme SCHEID, 92, former resident of 317 West Ninth street, died at 7:30 a.m. today in the National nursing home where she had been a patient the past year. She had been ill two years.
An active member of this community, she was born March 18, 1879, in Eaton, O., to Charles and Lavina RINEHART. Her marriage was Nov. 5, 1905, in Eaton, O., to Reuben J. SCHEID. He preceded in death in 1958.
Mrs. Scheid moved to Rochester from Eaton, O., in 1928, when the family purchased the Rochester Canning company. She had resided in this city since that time except for five years spent at the Wesley Methodist Manor in Frankfort. She was a member of the Grace United Methodist church, Rochester Women's club, WCTU, Victoria Reading Circle and the DAR.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Marguerite COPLEN, Rochester; a son, Robert J. SCHEID, Rochester; three grandchildren, Mrs. Tom (Susan) HESS, Marion, Va.; James COPLEN, Dubuque, Ia., and William COPLEN, Rochester; two great-grandchildren; one brother, Russell RINEHART, Alberta, Can.
Final rites will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Zimmerman Brothers funeral home. The Rev. Laurence SMITH will officiate. Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. cemetery here. Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Tuesday.
