George "Hot Dog" Waugh Jr., passed away unexpectedly at his home in Albion, Maine on Tuesday, November 1, 2005. He was born in Albion, Maine on May 2, 1929 the son of George Henry Sr. and Marguerite (Drake) Waugh.

George attended schools in Albion and graduated from Besse High School class of 1947. He served in the U.S. Army from 1951 to 1953 and was honorably discharged.

On July 2, 1953 he married the former Greta Martin and they shared 52 years together.

George owned and operated the family dairy farm in Albion with his son, Matthew. He also transported livestock for many farmers throughout the state. He was well known in the livestock field. He was a laid back man that enjoyed life and was always smiling. He also enjoyed listening to country music and was a member of the Masonic Lodge in China, Maine.

George was predeceased by his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Greta; his children, Rodney Waugh and his wife Becky of Augusta, Maine, Matthew Waugh and his wife Lisa of Albion, Maine. Dana Waugh and his wife June of Albion, Jody Sitnik and her husband Dan of Benton, Maine, and Norma Ditri and her husband John of Keene, NH; his sisters, Janet Tuttle and her husband Harry of Albion, and Carlene Veikman and her husband Richard of Solon, Maine; his grandchildren, Bradford and Haley Waugh, Steven , Nathan, and Anna Sitnik, Rachael Waugh, Derrick Waugh, and Julia Ditri; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 pm, Friday, November 4, 2005 at Lawry Brothers Funeral Home, 107 Main Street, Fairfield, Maine. A funeral service will be held at 1 pm, Saturday, November 5, 2005 at the Albion Christian Church with Pastor Timothy Murdock officiating. Burial will follow at the No. 4 Cemetery in Albion, Maine.
