Ed loved to garden, and grew beautiful vegetables and flowers. The family always looked forward to taking a tour of his garden when they visited. He loved to show it off. He was also a passionate sports fan, and enjoyed discussing his favorite teams with anyone who wanted to listen. He would often call his son Bobby (Robert Andrew), to discuss the latest play the Dallas Cowboys had made.
He loved his family, and enjoyed it so much when everyone got together at Thanksgiving and Christmas. He always said the Thanksgiving prayer, and after a HUGE meal, would go outside and gather up his grandsons to toss the football. He had 21 grandchildren, and family gatherings were huge. At Christmas he always passed out silver dollars to all of his grandchildren. It was a tradition that he upheld until his death.
