Funeral services for Mr. Melvin Bordelon, 78, of Calhoun, Louisiana will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, August 5th, 2009, at The Apostolic Church of the Lord Jesus Christ with Rev. David Mixon, Rev. Ralph Ensley, and Rev, Jimmy Masters officiating. Interment will follow in the Roselawn Cemetery, under the direction of the Kilpatrick Funeral Home of West Monroe.

Mr. Bordelon was born November 10, 1930 in Bryceland, LA and passed away Sunday August 2, 2009, in Monroe.

Mr. Bordelon was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during the Korean conflict. Mr. Bordelon retired from Manville after 35 years of service. He was a member of The Apostolic Church of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Bordelon, four sons, Randy Eugene Bordelon, Melvin Doug Bordelon and wife Lori, Rodney Lowery and wife Nonnie, and Danny Lowery and wife Gloria; one daughter Tricia Lawson and husband Trey; three brothers Rudy Bordelon, Lester Bordelon, Jr, and Donald Bordelon; one sister, Jerry Ann Cosby; seventeen grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Rodney, James, and Jesse Lowery, Chad and Brad Bordelon, and Michael Taylor.

Honorary pallbearers are Dabo Graves and Perry Bordelon.

Visitation is Tuesday evening, August 4, 2009, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Kilpatrick Funeral Home of West Monroe, LA.
