DEPORT – Gene Austin LeFevers, 81, of Dallas and formerly of Red River County died Monday, Aug. 3, 2009, in Baylor Hospital in Dallas.
Funeral services are set for 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 7, in Wood Funeral Home Chapel in Deport. Burial follows in Bluff Cemetery in Detroit under the direction of Wood Funeral Home.
The family receives friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday, at the funeral home.
He was born Dec. 26, 1927, in Powderly to Cornelius and Stella Ferguson LeFevers. He was associated with Bucker Boulevard Plumbing for over 27 years until his retirement.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Marilyn Bullard.
He is survived by one daughter, Bonnie Johnston of Umpire, Ark.; three sons, Gene "Ed" LeFevers and Dee Ann, John LeFevers and Sandra, all of Mesquite, and Stephen LeFevers and Tammy of Terrell; sisters, Jane Foster of Grand Prairie, Roy Arrasmith of Detroit and Tommylou Chambers of Canyon Lake; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
